You are probably ware that the Seashell Trust’s planning application to rebuild their facility and fund it by selling 30 acres of Green Belt for the construction of up to 325 houses was refused by the Council. Seashell appealed against the Council’s refusal of planning permission and the appeal was heard by a Planning Inspector at a Public Inquiry in May. Ratepayers formed a Joint Group with the Action Group and registered as a formal party to the hearing. The Inquiry was spread over 7 weeks and the Joint Group attended every day to give evidence and cross-examine witnesses. We now await the Inspector’s report and the decision of the Secretary of State, which is not expected until the end of the year.
